                    Script Consulting
Madeline DiMaggio
I carefully review each page of your script and make handwritten notations on the page.  After a complete read, I return to page one and talk you through the script page by page on an hour cassette (or electronically) giving a thorough overview and detailed evaluation of the material. This includes plot, structure, character dynamics, dialogue, editing, visuals, production and commercial values, and how to tackle the rewrite for the polish and sale.
It is not enough to be told what doesn’t work, or what needs to be reworked. I critique from both the sellers and buyer’s P.O.V.  As a professional writer with years of experience, I can see inside the material and help you implement changes that make the script work.  As a producer, I know how buyers think, what they are looking for, what is commercial, how to hone and amp your script to help your sale.
After receiving your critique you can set up a 45 minute follow up phone call and use this time for whatever you feel would serve you best – for clarification, discussing the rewrite, your marketing options, the pitch, writing the synopsis, finding your logline…etc.

Jan Smith
Optioned screenwriter
“She gets to the heart of a script and clearly points out the weaknesses—yet in an empowering way that makes you want to hit the keyboard.  She championed one of my screenplays, it’s now in pre-production with Ralph Macchio set to direct.”

2005 Nicholl's Fellowship Semi-Finalist
“Madeline has been my consultant on numerous projects. Her feedback is brilliant, easy to understand and implement. One of my screenplays won an award and it has opened doors to Producers and Directors in America.”
Toula Andreadis,

Students have 6 sessions of two hours each spread over a nine month period. They send me their units of writing in advance and I critique them and then work with them over the phone discussing the material. Writers will have a nine (9) month period in which to complete their screenplays.
Session 1:
Submit a 1 to 5 page synopsis of the story you intend to develop into a script
The critique will place special emphasis on structure, character, the commercial aspects of the storyline, what to empathize, what to stay away from, and how best to amp your story to give it the needed Hollywood edge.
Session 2:
Submit a step outline of the script
The critique will place special emphasis on structure, character, the commercial aspects of the storyline, what to empathize, what to stay away from, and how best to amp your story to give it the needed Hollywood edge.

Each unit is not to exceed 30 pages.  Your submission will be mailed back to you with comments written on your script and an audio critique mini cassette tape.
